Carlsbad comes to life during the three months called summer. Suntan
lotion and ocean air compete for
attention with the fragrant blooms of the town’s signature
magnolia trees. Cessy’s—near the corner of Carlsbad Village
Drive and the “Boulevard”—becomes a ritual, and Wednesday’s
Farmer’s Market bustles (don’t miss the tamales).
Carlsbad’s casual style extends beyond the Village; it’s equally
